The renovation of the four rooms dedicated to the Order of St. John (by which name our Order is known in Greece) at the Grand Masters’ Palace in Rhodes’ Old Town is among the Embassy’s first intervention.
With the help of Italian professionals and the precious contribution of sponsors, the result was achieved, and the halls will be reopened on 1st April 2024 and officially inaugurated on 19th October 2024 in the presence of His Most Eminent Highness the Grand Master Fra’ John Dunlap.
St. John the Baptist was celebrated on Saturday 22nd June 2024 with a Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Victory in Rhodes Town.
In July 2023 Southern Europe was battling extreme heat. Large wildfires had been raging near Athens and on Rhodes. The Embassy coordinated teams from Malteser International to assist the population.
Ambassador Luca Rovati presented his credentials to the President of the Hellenic Republic Aikaterini Sakellaropoulou on 26th September 2022.
